John (Rusty) Reese is managing partner of Peak View Capital, an incubator and developer of commodities, managed futures and global macro investment strategies and managers.
He was formerly executive managing director and senior vice-president of Wells Fargo Asset Management, responsible for the European Credit Management Ltd. (London) investment management business in North America. At the time of ECM’s acquisition by Wells’ predecessor Wachovia Bank, Rusty was president of ECM Inc., and a partner and member of the board of directors of ECM Ltd. Prior to ECM, Rusty spent over 20 years with Merrill Lynch & Co., most recently as managing director in the global debt markets division in New York, responsible for the corporate, insurance and pension client groups for North America.
Rusty earned a BA in Economics from Westminster College. Rusty is active in many local organizations, including the Art Institute of Chicago, the Museum of Contemporary Art, the Chicago Historical Society, St. Chrysostom’s Day School, and is past President of the Men's Board of the University of Chicago Cancer Research Foundation.
He is married with 3 children and lives in Chicago and London.
